Prek Leap New Generation School is a high school with about 1,160 students, about half of them female, in the north of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. There are 13 subjects offered at the school. The school was founded in 1980 as Secondary School, upgraded to a high school in 2005, and became part of the national New Generation Schools (NGS) program in 2017/18. The NGS is a reform program launched in 2014 supported by the Ministry of Education (MoEYS: Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport). The main goal of the program is to promote semi-autonomous public schools with a mandate to foster innovation and high educational standards, bringing them to a ‘next level’ in school quality and leadership. The approximately 90 teaching staff are also directly employed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The school is further embedded in a network with other NGS and high schools.

SA4D and Prek Leap New Generation School are currently implementing a joint program on innovative play-based education and sustainable food production for secondary school students.
