Young people whose parents or grandparents migrated to Switzerland find it harder to find apprenticeships than their classmates with a Swiss background.
Studies have shown that this phenomenon can’t be explained by grades alone.
That’s why, in early 2009, SA4D held two roundtables to discuss the problem and possible solutions in Biel/Bienne and Zurich, bringing together representatives of businesses, young people from a migrant background and members of authorities and professional organisations.

SA4D summarised the ideas and problems that were discussed at the roundtables in a report (only available in German) aimed at professional organisations, authorities, education specialists and businesses.
