Lots of people emigrate from Hungary. Society is aging and the economy is stagnant. Immigrants could reverse or slow the trend, but Hungary is not using this opportunity.

Hungary’s migration policy is very defensive. There are no integration measures in place. That’s the area SA4D was involved in with the ‘Integration through sport’ programme from 2013 to 2014. Alongside Szubjektiv Értékek Alapítváni and the Utopia Civil Association, SA4D used sport as a motor for integration in Hungary.

Integration in sports associations

SA4D has already implemented similar projects in Switzerland. In 2012, we published the guidelines ‘Cultural diversity in sports associations’, which shows associations how they can better reach migrants. SA4D adapted these guidelines to the situation in the country for ‘Integration through sport in Hungary’. The project in Hungary ended with a sports day.
