Youth unemployment is widespread in Nepal. There is hardly any vocational training in the country. Where it does exist, it is often not adapted to the needs of the job market.

That is why SA4D ran a vocational training programme from 2012–2015 in the Dang district, with a focus on sport and play as tools for learning.

A handbook was produced for these vocational classes but can be used internationally. It prepares young people for the world of work with basic knowledge on developing and running a business, bookkeeping, marketing and market analysis. It also covers topics such as gender and reproductive health.
