Bilha really wanted to attend the camp because she knew she would be able to play all day. She had never talked about sexual violence before. “I consistently heard people making inappropriate comments about me or other girls, but I never took it seriously because I did not know that it was a form of sexual violence that needs to be reported if it happens. I know now that it is wrong, and I will not be quiet next time it happens to me or my friends.”
“This is one of the most important things that I learnt in the last two weeks,” the 11-year-old continued. “It is wrong to just stand and watch while someone is getting bullied. It could be them today and me tomorrow. So next time I witness bullying in school, I will take action and tell the teacher.”
